About this image

Good conditions for imaging Venus with excellent transparency and average seeing (Ant III). This image is a stack of 32,000 frames from four videos, all captured at 30 ms exposure but with gain of 270 in two and 300 in the other two. Processing was done in PIPP, Autostakkert!3 and Registax. The comparison image is a heat map from WinJupos for the same time, in which the darker areas are colder (higher elevation). There is a reasonable match between the darker features in the image and those in the map, although the map has exaggerated contrast.
