Venus night and day 13th March

About this image

A minor miracle on several counts, a brief 20 minute gap in the weather after heavy rain and hailstones, then despite low cloud near Venus it popped out for around 10 minutes when the sky was just dark enough to be able to detect the night side.   This is also only one day before Venus is too low to observe any detail on the night side as the Sun won't have reached -5 degrees and the sky background sufficiently dark to pick out night side detail.  This is the closest to then I have ever been able to detect the night side!
