About this image

Sinus Amoris (The Bay of Love) is not just a romantic spot on the Moon. It is also adjacent to the landing spot of Apollo 17, the last crewed landing on the Moon (so far). The Taurus-Littrow valley lies in the darkness beyond the terminator near centre left of the image.
