About this image

I postponed my Winchester Weekend registration (!) to observe this occultation from home on Friday evening.  The 13th mag asteroid is seen approaching the 12th mag star in this stack of 30s FITS exposures.   An occultation with duration 1.5 sec was recorded at 80ms cadence in SER format.  The Tangra light curve is shown at upper right.  The D/R contacts are caused by the disappearance of the star, while (in this example) the asteroid remains faintly visible.

Two other UK observers and three from Europe contribute the resulting outline plot lower right - data is preliminary.

My timings were: D  2200 12.04,  R 2200 13.50  +/- 0.1s     These are reported to the European SODIS database.
