About this image

This is a white light solar observation just now.

The full disk is plotted with a Polaris-I reticle eyepiece. West (left) and North (top) are marked. P is at 353.3-degrees.

The Active Regions 4117 and 4118 were sketched "in close-up" using Binoviewer kit generating x117. I estimate the two groups together to be 2 arc-minutes high by 4 arc-minutes wide. The penumbra of the large spot on the west of AR4117 really was seen in that broken-up or flocculent way. AR 4118 had a lovely arc of broken "mini features" in its northern half.

Seeing was ANT III but moments of less good seeing increased as the observation progressed (I assume as heat built up around my local environment).
