Interstellar object I3/ATLAS' path through Leo

About this image

The interstellar object I3 ATLAS traveling through Leo, the image is centred on star is HD 96795. The object was predicted to be around mag 16, five days before closest approach to Earth on the 19th Dec, at some 1.8AU distance. Where 1AU is the distance between Earth and the Sun.

This is a 5 and a half hour image, with the stars stationary while the Interstellar object glides through the field of view creating a trail, showing the path it has taken.

Taken with a SeeStar S50 using Luminance filter.

Stacked in Siril, processed in Pixinsight.
