About this image

This was a nice image captured in steady but hazy conditions.  Although Saturn was only 33 degrees above the horizon (high for the UK in recent years!) I was still able to capture some detail in IR combined with a brief set of RGB frames.  I have finally solved a long standing issue about image scaling with this f/15 scope.  My usual planetary cameras (Uranus-M and Uranus-C) undersample at f/15 and I have not found a suitable Barlow combination to get the optimum image scale - the best I managed was a 1.3x operating at 1.5x, slightly oversampling.   Most of the newer other cameras massively oversample because of their smaller pixel sizes but I found the ASI183MM has pixels at 2.4 um, perfect to sample at the right scale for my set-up.
