About this image

After my challenging imaging session for Jupiter's opposition on 10 Jan 2026, I had a follow up session on 12 Jan 2026 in warmer conditions, but less good seeing. I used the barlow and captured a series of OSC and IR images. The striation pattern visible in the 10 Jan images were not visible on 12 Jan, somewhat confirming that they were consequences of unusual conditions on 10 Jan.

These are IR-OSC images using frequency separation in Affinity Photo to extract the high frequency detail from the IR to enhance details in the OSC.
