Title
Jupiter rare double transit with Callisto
About this image
It has taken me quite a while to work through over 275 Gb of catured data when conditions were varying from poor to good between and during each video. I reverted to replacing my ADC and this was also the first time I had a replacement diffraction ring in place to the specification I had ordered rather than the one Orion had first supplied.
In the end these results were from the best 15% of the videos that were usable. Io can be seen in all the images and its shadow as well in the lower right image. More importantly is the transit of Callisto, which is so dark it looks like its own shadow. Callisto is rarely at the right angle to transit so prominently across Jupiter so it was good to have clear enough skies to capture it.

It was clear here in East Kent also, a rare treat lately. I've got >50 Gb of captures of this event yet to process. So many other tasks in the garden clamouring for time now spring has sprung.
