About this image

I was set up a few metres from Steve Knight this morning and our images of this comet were taken at almost exactly the same time. There was a lot of drifting cloud early on and by the time this cleared the sky was getting bright. There were also some really annoying "security" lights on farm buildings to the east of us so what should have been a good, dark site was rather spoiled. In any case the comet shows quite a bit of detail in the long ion tail (this is an uncropped image with FoV 5.4 x 3.6 deg) and I get a total magnitude of 5.5 using Comphot on the green channel of this image.
