About this image

This is one of the remaining handfull of Messier targets that I cannot get from my observatory due to the target's very low elevation as seen from my location. However, by driving a few miles from home to use a hard stand on a farmer’s field the SeeStar S50 came to the rescue. It’s a poor example of what is a superb galaxy, but I was only able to capture an hour either side of its transit when it reached a maximum elevation of just under 7.5 degrees. At least I can now tick it off my personal Messier image collection.
