About this image

As part of the Lunar Change project (Lunar Section Director Tony Cook), observers were asked to video the dark limb during favourable Earth shine conditions in April 2026 when the April Lyrid meteor shower was active. This impact was recorded by some other observers, so i was able to go back and re-play my recording. This is an enhanced still frame showing the flash estimated to be magnitude 9 near lat -7, long 138, not far from Kepler. The flash is across two frames and occurred at the same time as the other observations +/- 1sec

Transparency was poor on the 22nd with drifting thin cloud ( seen in the video) but good enough to get recordings. Each was about 3min over a period of an hour or so.
