About this image

I planned to sit outside and do a visual watch for a while - but my excuse is I'd had a very long day preparing for the eclipse to set up on my front lawn to display and explain it to my neighbours and their youngsters. Nearer midnight I fell asleep and failed in my duty as a meteor observer. :-(

My unpaid assistants - aka video meteor cameras - were on shift and I've attached the example composite image from my west-facing RMS camera UK0090. Single-station analysis reports 166 meteors (151 Perseids, 1 kappa Cygnid, 1 northern delta Aquariid, 1 southern delta Aquariid and 12 sporadics) all recorded between 21:05 to 03:21 UT.

The meteors in the image ranged between apparent magnitudes -2.0 and 3.9.
