About this image

Herewith this year's composite image showing the large proper motion of Barnard's Star. The varying sizes of its image and its soft haloed appearance are artefacts arising from the stacking of images taken with two different cameras, several different exposure times, and varying seeing conditions.

Later this year I will try to do accurate photometry of all 132 images in my collection and see how well the result matches the Gaia values.

The date and time of observation given are, of course, completely fictitious. The gallery software was built long before anyone thought of submitting decade-long observations.
