Aside from Dione and a nice spoke on the left this image of Saturn taken in poor seeing that deteriorated would be nothing special except that it is the return of my 18inch D-K after an absence of just over 4 months while being repaired under warranty - and some personal concern and stress to lose it for that length of time!

Typically the three spells of clear skies I have had since its return on 9th October have all coincided with Jet Stream activity and poor seeing locally. The weather gods have their way of making a point when it comes to new or replaced/repaired kit.

PS I am extremely grateful to Nick Haigh who loaned me his old f/5 12inch Newtonian for the whole four months I was waiting for the D-K to be repaired and returned.
