Dmitry Kaparulin
My interest to astronomy appeared in the primary school. At that time I attended astronomical club for school students (1993-2003) and participated in astronomy Olympiads. My best result is the highest score among all the age categories at 6th and 7th International Astronomy Olympiad (2001, 2002).
I chose physical education because I wanted to know best the Universe in which we all live. Now I am PhD in Physics and a researcher in Tomsk State University. My research field includes quantum field theory, theory of gravity and higher spin fields. I also deliver several lecture courses for students in my University.
My current astronomical activity includes teaching work at the Tomsk Regional Planetarium, where I serve as the head of the Astronomical club, and regular observations. My favorable objects are deep-sky, planets, comets, meteors and noctilucent clouds. I also make some basic astrophotography.
My main observational site is located 35 km south of Tomsk at 56.2 N, 85 E in a small village Kurlek. Typical SQM at dark night is 21.2, observational season lasts from August to the first days of May. I often make trips to southern locations like Vladivostok and Sochi, where the sky is observed with binoculars.
My main observational instrument 150-mm f/7 achromatic refractor is construction, and it is expected to be finalized in middle of 2020.
