I have been interested in astronomy since the 1970s and finally became a visual observer with a 8” Dobsonian back in 2012. However, disappointed by light pollution, I became interested in Astrophotography earlier in 2019. I discovered filters to block out the newer LED streetlights and bought a widefield William Optics refractor. Mated to a Skywatcher GEM I am now able to image nebulas, galaxies and all manner of deep space objects from my heavily light polluted garden.
The only thing that is stopping me now is the fickle UK weather. I am just at the start of my journey in imaging an hope to learn as much as I can from the members of BAA.
