Patterns in the sky

As we approach mid-summer with no or limited astronomical darkness through the night, searching for faint fuzzy objects can be pretty difficult. So for the Forum this month, I thought why not look at stars, and in particular some of the lovely patterns they make in the sky that are called ‘asterisms’. Usually the stars in asterisms are not physically connected such as those found in open clusters, but sometimes a few of them are, with background or foreground stars enhancing the effect.
