I’ve had a report from Dave Jones (Norman Lockyer Observatory radio meteor detection group) of a huge event detected in their data just before 10:37 UTC (11:37 BST) Tuesday morning (May 8th). This shows a radio reflection at 143 MHz from what looks like an ionised train which gradually decays over 3 minutes. Dave comments that it is the longest duration event that they have ever seen. Given the time of day and the cloudy weather over the UK it is unlikely that anyone will have seen anything but if you hear of any strange sightings around that time on Tuesday morning we’d be interested to know about them. For details about the NLO system have a look here.Nick.
