Hi,
Last year the NEMETODE team http://www.nemetode.org were successful in recording a number of these meteors whose parent is comet 1P/Halley. From our northern latitudes they are tricky to capture, being mainly visible in the Twilight Zone shortly before sunrise.
Here’s an example captured on the morning of 2014 April 19, although I fear that we could be clouded out for this year’s display.

I had three great night observing from Tenerife and my total amounted to 6 eta aquarids! Not a great amount but it least it was a good break. Lovely weather down at sea level and beautiful skies higher up.
Interestingly whilst travelling to and from the location I use I saw several groups (with mini busses in layby’s) using telescopes and binoculars. Seems as though the “astro tourism” trade is really taking off.

Was it taken in the Mt Teide caldera near the Parador?
