Lunar Section Circulars – past and present

Well done Bill and team on another wonderful LSC. And well done Stuart Morris for getting all the past lunar section circulars scanned and uploaded for BAA members to read <https://britastro.org/downloads/10167>.

I instantly went to the oldest copies of the circular, and the second edition, following a lunar section meeting held on 8th January 1966, on page two of the circular is an entry called “Focussing Technique”.

I’ve taken the liberty of taking a screen shot and including it here. Several things struck me about this, including: we continue to discuss focussing techniques today and everyone does it differently; the method described is actually a very good method I find; the last sentence made me laugh out loud, as it is as true today as it was 53 years ago!
