A potentially bright supernova in a nearby galaxy for southerly observers (or those with robotic telescope access) to keep an eye on perhaps. Caught early so currently quite faint. The sub type is unclear from the initial spectrum but in the absence of IS extinction a type Ia could potentially reach as bright as mag 11 if the distance (10 Mpc but with high uncertainty) in NED is correct.
Eyeballing it from the image it looks slightly brighter than the star above it on the top edge of the frame which is V mag 13.7 (APASS)
Putting the 2SPOT spectrum through the SNID supernova identification program estimates that it was ~11 days from maximum then so possibly maximum around 25th? Plenty of time to go yet.
