Hi,
It’s been a while since I caught a “full visible span” spectrum. Got this gorgeous spectrum earlier this evening. Classic Type A rocky with very strong Mg and Na lines. Also a LOT of atmospheric emission from the N band shortward of the Na line and around 650nm.
The capture frame is quite unusual as it actually has two meteors in it. Embedded within the big spectrum there was a smaller meteor moving in almost the opposite direction. The video shows it occurred about 1 second before the fireball. I’ve marked the start with a little asterisk, it was going top right to bottom left.
The image also has the zero order also, which is quite rare! A good check on the dispersion numbers. Alas there are a handfull of “Elons Vermin” in the frame too… : – ((
Cheers,
Bill.
