The recurrent nova M31N 2008-12a’s ~annual entry onto the stage has just been announced:
2024-12-13.0074 UTC with a magnitude of 18.6 CV, Jingyuan Zhao using the Burke-Gaffney Observatory remotely.
Matt Darnley (LJMU) calls for follow up observations over the next 3 to 4 days. This RN fades rapidly. And it is faint, 18th mag at max. Matt has sent a ToO observing request for follow-up observations with Swift.
