Hi,
Despite the moonlight, I had some exceptional observing conditions during the very cold snap recently. With temps here falling to below -7C on several nights I’m glad I can sit indoors and view monitors now… getting soft in my old age ; – ))
I was treated to a very distinct meteor and luckily I caught the spectrum on several of my HiReMS I systems.
I’ve put the raw video on youtube as it’s quite interesting to watch the disintegration and flaring. https://youtu.be/dEdURA38M9o
What made this one special as it’s the first time I’ve recorded a spectrum with the magnesium triplet fully resolved.
Lovely stuff!
Cheers,
Bill.
