Sad and tragic news. I got my first look through a big scope belonging to Owen at Ashdown Forest star party where I saw M15 through his 20″ Dobsonian.
He was a huge reservoir of knowledge of deep sky information and as Andrew says, a real character who wore always spoke his mind.
A big loss to the astronomical community.
