2014 Apr 22

The Lyrid meteor shower will reach its maximum rate of activity.

Some shooting stars will be visible each night from 19 Apr to 25 Apr, but the best show will be expected on or around 23 April 2014.

The maximum number of meteors expected to be visible from a dark location is around 10 per hour (ZHR). The Moon will be 24 days old at the time of peak activity, and so will present minimal interference.

The radiant of the Lyrid meteor shower is at around right ascension 18h03m50s , declination +32°00’00”.
