At this point in its monthly cycle, the Moon is too close to the Sun for observation – on this occasion it will lie in the constellation Pisces, a mere 04°15′ away from the Sun – but over the subsequent days of its cycle it becomes visible in the late afternoon and early evening sky as it approaches first quarter.
