Ursid meteor shower

The Ursid meteor shower will reach its maximum rate of activity.
Some shooting stars will be visible each night from 17 Dec to 25 Dec, but the best show will be expected on or around 22 December 2013.
The maximum number of meteors expected to be visible from a dark location is around 10 per hour (ZHR). The Moon will be 19 days old at the time of peak activity, and so will present significant interference in the pre-dawn sky.
