Winchester Weekend 2026

Friday 10th Apr 2026 - Sunday 12th Apr 2026

This will be the 60th anniversary of the first “residential weekend course” organised by Alfred Curtis in 1967 to provide “guidance in the observational side of astronomy”. For the 2026 weekend we will be returning to Alfred’s original idea and making practical observing the theme of the weekend with talks from many well-known amateurs.

The current programme for the weekend is available HERE.

Booking will open at 9am on Tuesday 6th January and will close on Friday 13th March. Please note tickets for this event often sell out quickly.

The ticket price for the full weekend including 2 nights accommodation and all meals is £315 per person.

Booking will be available to BAA members via a special access code which will be available to those logged into the website.

Check in time on Friday 10th April will be from 3pm.

On Sunday afternoon we welcome 5-15 minute presentations from BAA members. Please email David Hardwick dkl_hardwick@hotmail.com if you would like to make a short presentation.

In the Exhibition area we are running a bring and buy table again and attendees are welcome to bring any equipment they want to sell.

If the skies are clear there will be an opportunity for observing on Friday and Saturday nights and attendees are welcome to bring telescopes etc.
