Our time in Tivoli was delightful, surrounded by the charm of the town. Although the view towards Rome during the day was often hazy, the earthquake’s impact saddened us. Rome, even in 2016, appeared bright on the horizon, yet I could only spot 4 or 5 stars above. The air pollution in Rome was concerning, with no visible stars from our hotel balcony, suggesting limited light pollution control across the surrounding towns.
