The Blazar (AGN) BL Lac is currently in a bright outburst at 12.6C (Sep 08.027 UT). This is a rise of ~1.5 mags in just four days. Atel #16806 gives some further information.

There is a BAAVSS chart here for visual observers. Photometric tables are available with charts from the AAVSO web site.

This looks to be a short duration event, but brightness can change quickly with BL Lac, so it might brighten again. Keep looking!

Thanks Ian. I had 13.2 visual last night, and I also have an unfiltered Slooh image which I haven’t measured yet.
