A leading question fellas…
Are the Alpy Ar-Ne bulbs really just the same as those found in Relco starters?
They look identical and perform so similarly that I can’t see any difference.
They’re not a prticular manufacturer that gives better lines, are brighter or trigger at a lower voltage?

Hi Tony
Yep they are Relco 480 starters, though I believe Shelyak sort them, probably based on trigger voltage. Their power supply is also designed to prolong their life (constant current ?)
I have some notes on this that Francois Cochard published somewhere. I will dig them out
