Just a reminder that we are now only two weeks away from the Section meeting at Clements Hall, York on Saturday, May 18. Doors open at 10am and all are welcome. There is no need to book but I’d appreciate an email if you are thinking of coming and haven’t yet let me know.
We are currently going through a relatively quiet time as far as comets are concerned but a lot has happened since the last meeting and there will be plenty to discuss. Full details are on the BAA website here.
There will be morning and afternoon tea and coffee at the venue but no lunch so bring a packed lunch or pop out to local shops/pubs during the one hour lunch break.
Nick James. Director.
16 May 2019 at 1:17 pm #581058Dr Paul LeylandParticipantUnfortunately I can’t attend, but will a video of the meeting be made available?
16 May 2019 at 8:40 pm #581059Nick JamesParticipantI hope to have video. I’ll let you know after the event.
16 May 2019 at 8:41 pm #581060Nick JamesParticipantIf you are coming to the meeting on Saturday by car please see the directions attached. There is limited parking in the school carpark near the venue. Alternatively there is paid parking in Nunnery Lane. York has a number of Park and Rides which may also be an option.
Hoping to see you there.
20 May 2019 at 8:41 pm #581064Nick JamesParticipantI’m pleased to say that video and audio from all of the talks on Saturday appear to have recorded correctly. I should be able to post the videos in the next week or so.
20 May 2019 at 9:53 pm #581065Eric WatkinsParticipantThat’s great news Nick and thanks to all those involved in the recording.
Looking very much to viewing them.

9 June 2019 at 4:28 pm #581127James LancashireParticipantDid they get uploaded? Not sure how to navigate the video part of this website
9 June 2019 at 6:15 pm #581128Nick JamesParticipantThey are being processed on the website at the moment but it has taken all day to get to talk number 4 and there are 10 of them. It will probably be tomorrow before they are online. You’ll find them on the meetings page here when they are done. Coincidentally I am currently requesting that the BAA WebOps team remove the very slow video transcode that causes the delay.
10 June 2019 at 5:42 pm #581137Nick JamesParticipantFinally, around about lunchtime, the processing script finished and the videos are all available here.
10 June 2019 at 10:34 pm #581139James LancashireParticipantThanks Nick. A lot of work getting them online. I’ll have a good look at them over the weekend.
11 June 2019 at 4:59 pm #581144Alex PrattParticipantMany thanks Nick. This is a most valuable service.
It was a great meeting with a full programme of quality talks. I’ve downloaded the videos and will enjoy reliving the event whilst I wait for the monsoon season to abate.
Clear skies,
Alex.
