I am not sure where to put this one. It might be photometry, I suppose, but it’s not a good fit and neither are imaging nor deep sky.
Anyway, this article, https://arxiv.org/abs/2501.09894 is absolutely fascinating in my opinion and opens up a new field to amateurs which was previously the preserve of professionals using very expensive kit. The title of the article is the title of this thread.
