I’ve received an email from Tom Calderwood, who is head of the AAVSO PEP section, saying that he has an Optec photometer available for use on bright stars, which could be used by a UK observer.
Tom says “a prospective observer needs either a cassegrain scope of at least 8 inches aperture or a relatively short-tube refractor of at least 5 inches, equatorially mounted and preferably with GOTO. I can discuss other more specific points with interested individuals”.
If anyone is interested please contact me personally and I’ll put you in touch with Tom.
