    I have spent several hours trying to download a new visual chart for this star from the AAVSO site so I can continue my observations. After typing in the usual information, ie V488 Sge, 60 arc/secs, 14.5 mag, I just receive lots of whirling and finally a message saying, our staff are aware. Is there a very kind member who has a similar chart already and is able to post it on the forum for me to download. Thank you. Mel Joslin.

    Hopefully someone can provide a chart, Mel.
    The underlying problem is that AAVSO variable star plotter draws data from VizieR/SIMBAD. Both have been experiencing significant outages in the last few days. Apparently the former due to intense bot activity and the latter due to a global security breach at the U of Strasbourg which hosts it.

    Thank you for the explanation, Jeremy. I have been trying to get a new chart for the last three days. Hopefully everything will get back to normal at some point in the future. Thick cloud here tonight so I may just have to relax in front of the fire with a small glass of something even warmer.
