Doctorate in infrared astronomy, IC London, 70s. worked at Royal Observatory Edinburgh, University of Manchester astronomy Department as a post-doc. From 1978, worked on infrared cameras at Malvern Royal Signals radar establishment, which became QinetiQ, retiring early in 2005. Working on light pollution modelling measurements with CfDS, presenting at international conferences, received the IDA Galileo award. Moved house to rural location in Malvern hills AONB and renovated completely and with green energy systems. Run on astronomy and astrophysics course now for the Malvern U3A. Done relativistic interstellar travel simulations and 3D star and galaxy and local Universe maps. Built computer controlled telescopes Observatory. Monitor the sky brightness every minute. Also sequential all sky camera images. Imaging galaxies and nebulae and ephemeral objects. On committee of local Institute of physics. Member of IAU and fellow of RAS.
