I love tracking down obscure stars and collecting their spectra with my Alpy 600 spectroscope and submitting them to the BAA and ARAS spectroscopy databases. I find this a fascinating branch of astronomy which continues to stimulate me to learn more about the astrophysics of the stars. I feel privileged to be part of an international group of amateur astronomers working together with professionals in this field.
