Retired. Latecomer to practical astronomy. Observe in rural SW Scotland. Haven't found that special niche yet, but spectroscopy initially with Star Analyser and lately with ALPY ticks a lot of boxes. UPDATE - Settled on polarimetry with a DIY dual beam polarimeter, an aspect of astronomy once described as " a quiet side-street with not much traffic".
