I’m an amateur astronomer who was inspired by growing up under dark skies and experiencing the excitement of the space race in the 1960’s. In the early 1980’s I ground and polished my own mirror for a 6-inch F8 Newtonian, and hand built a Dobsonian mount. I’ve been a keen visual observer ever since, and often sketch my observations.
