A new outreach discussion forum
2023 December 12
Just launched, AstroMailbox is a new astronomy communicators’ e-mail discussion list which brings together anyone interested in astronomy outreach. It provides a place to celebrate successes, ask for advice, share resources and meet potential collaborators.
The project is a partnership between the UK outreach team of the International Astronomical Union Office of Astronomy Outreach – Jenny Shipway, Gemma Kerr, James Fawcett – and Andy Newsam of Liverpool John Moores University.
The list may be of interest to, for example, anyone giving astronomy talks in schools, presenting public planetarium shows, welcoming visitors to an observatory, running a school astronomy club, taking a telescope out to public places, or undertaking any other such activities outside formal teaching. Information about upcoming free astronomy communicator training events from the Association of Science & Discovery Centres and the Royal Astronomical Society is included.
