Robotic telescope observing with the BAA
2016 May 22
Have you ever thought about an astronomy project that requires the use of a research grade telescope at a dark observing site, with much better observing conditions than at your home location? This has been possible for many years by using the growing number of robotic telescopes around the world that are available for amateur astronomers through the internet.
Perhaps the BAA Robotic Telescope Project (RTP) can help. This has been running for several years to encourage members to contribute to the various BAA Observing Sections using robotic telescopes, by providing a 50% subsidy on commercial telescope rates. The telescopes currently selected for this project are the Sierra Stars Observatory Network (SSON).
