Thommes’ nebula Monoceros V900 Mon 6hr 57m 22s -08° 23’ 18”

The faint variable nebula in Monoceros, discovered by Jim Thommes in 2009. Nick Hewitt image 2019 November 29th using iTelescope32 (431mm f6.8 Planewave CDK). 300s x 2. Bin2.
Thommes’ nebula is a relatively new addition to the list, being noticed by Jim Thommes in 2009 when imaging LBN1022. It is flowing from an eruptive variable V900 Monocerotis and was barely visible on POSS images. It has yet to be systematically imaged by British amateurs although the occasional image is in now in our archive. It would be good to have regular observations with consistent instrumentation and technique.
