I was very fortunate, last Friday to have a clear sky where I live. and not only that. But a dry night, with little dew.I thought I would say farewell to the great globular Messier 13. I used my new Celestron C9.25 @ F6.3 with my Canon 1000D. I didn’t use any calibration frames. M13 was captured using a lower Iso setting at 200. I think this is better because it gives you a cleaner image. The image was shot, using 180 second sub exposures. The total time is 1hour and 06 minutes.NGC6207 is visible towards the lower left. Here is the result.

Paul, A delightful image with the individual stars clearly defined right in towards the centre – marvellous. May I ask was your set up guided or not, and if so how? Whatever your answer it is a beautiful photo.Martin Butcher

Yes the image was guided. I use a 9×50 finder scope that has a adaptor fitted where the eyepiece would go. This then allows me to use my QHY5 camera with this finder for guiding.I also use PHD which if you don’t know. Is free and possibly the best free guiding software there is.Thank you for you comments.
