Hi I know this doesn't relate to the excellent BAA computing section charts etc ..
I have a £2 credit for an app so thought I should look at what would be worthwhile for astronomy on my Android phone/tablet.
(I don't think I've paid for any of my apps so far, but I'm a bit traditional in using my phone for calls and texts!)
Anyway any suggestions/recommendations would be handy. Probably looking at a planetarium app especially if it's updated with comets.
I realise it won't have detailed charts but as a guide for what's where it would be helpful on when I'm travelling. Thanks a lot
Hi James,
I've used Sky Safari for a couple of years now and am very pleased with it. It runs quite happily on both my Motorola tablet and Samsung Galaxy S2 phone. It has been updated with comets automatically so for example it includeds the current comet Lovejoy.
It's now been superceded by Sky Safari 4 which presumably is even better and only costs £1.87 so it is a good fit for your £2 credit.
David.
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately Sky Safari isn't on the Amazon app list so I went for Skeye Pro which is also updated for comets. Had to pay £1.50-odd on top of my promo credit but I can download it to all my devices. Pleased so far.
