About this image

A request for observation of TNO Haumea possibly occulting a 17th mag star was announced on the PLANOCCULT list server.
I attempted this, but due to the faintness of the target (short exposures were needed to "time" the event) the result was inconclusive. However, the stacked images show the distant mag 16 TNO quite well at 50 AU. Apart from Pluto, this is the most distant TNO i have imaged (to date). Haumea is also one of the more reflective TNOs.

The field shown (near apha Boo) is a portion of the full field which was 19x26'
