Title

Venus in ultraviolet over a 12 day period

About this image

This is three successive images of the clouds on Venus from 26th February, 1st March and 8th March.   I have been able to take advantage of the high position of Venus in the Northern hemisphere to avoid obstructions that would normally remove it from my view shortly after midday. I can currently capture images until around 5-5:30pm when the atmosphere is likely to be more settled than earlier in the day.  I have also learnt how to reduce as far as possible any glass absorbtion that would reduce the amount of captured UV light.     All three images were taken at around 200 frames per second and around two-thirds gain of my most sensitive mono CMOS camera.
