About this image
Both Mercury and Venus are high in the sky before dark and although Mercury is very tricky that high during daylight by using an Astronomik 807nm IR pass filter I was able to get a steady enough image. Venus was also imaged with the same infrared pass filter. In the end I took ten 12,000 frame stacks of Mercury but only two were good enough to process and the best one has been used for this image. The Venus stack was the best of four stacks of around 8,000 frames, all taken at speeds between 250 and 312 frames per second to aid capturing the best moments.
