About this image

With absence of jet stream I set up with Mars in mind. Seeing and stability improved as the night progressed. Best view arround 1am BST just before a packed up. Looks like I hit the focus sweet point for this sequence of 2500 frames and the best 30% used i think. Processed in Registax5 with moderate enhancement. Seeing was Ant II i would say.

Features in the Lockyer book plate IX 1862 (see discussion forum) are shown on the image which is full frame (no crop).
